Jonathan founded House of Miracles & Empowerment and leads its humanitarian mission — building the partnerships, teams and funding that turn intention into meals served and families helped.
Our story
House of Miracles & Empowerment grew from Jonathan L. Harris's work in coaching, spiritual development and community building. What began around one person's work quickly became something much larger: a community.
People gathered week after week from different cities and states. Some participated virtually. Others traveled to Atlanta, Charlotte and beyond for Sunday gatherings, spiritual development, retreats, conferences, fellowship and shared experiences.
We learned together. We prayed together. We grew together.
And eventually, we began asking a larger question: what good is a strong community if the strength of that community never reaches anyone outside of it?
Service became a natural expression of who we were. People gave. People volunteered. People cooked. People organized. People supported families. We held back-to-school efforts, Thanksgiving and Christmas drives, fed people experiencing homelessness, responded to individual needs and used the relationships and resources within our community to help people who did not always have the same access.
A simple principle began to guide us. If we have relationships, we can use them. If we have resources, we can share them. If we have access, we can help create access for someone else. If we have learned something that can strengthen another person or family, we can pass it on. We wanted the strength of our community to become a resource for other communities.
As the work grew, so did the responsibility. Good intentions were no longer enough. Service needed structure. Resources needed accountability. Communication needed systems. Partnerships needed stewardship. And the work needed an organization capable of serving more people than any one person or small community could reach alone.
That evolution shaped the House of Miracles & Empowerment we are building today. Our work is centered on three commitments.
Feed.
Because immediate human needs matter. Hunger, essential resources and moments of crisis cannot always wait.
Empower.
Because people need more than temporary relief — knowledge, skills, opportunity, relationships, cultural connection, resources, exposure and access that last long after a moment of assistance.
Serve.
Because strong communities are built when people recognize that the well-being of their neighbors matters.
House of Miracles continues to be a community. We continue to gather. We continue to serve. And we are building the infrastructure necessary to take that service farther — locally, nationally and internationally.
Over the years, House of Miracles has served individuals, families and communities through feeding efforts, drives, outreach and community initiatives.
The expression of House of Miracles has grown. The heart of it has remained simple: bring people together, use what we have, serve where there is need, create access where access is missing, and leave people and communities stronger than we found them.
